"Having rented a lovely villa in Barbados for the last 4 years, it was recently sold so we had to find a new villa. We found villa Melissa on the web and took a bit of a risk as we had not seen it before. On arrival, we were greeted by the most lovely staff, the Villa is beautiful and the position great. A short walk down a private road and you’re on the beach near Coral Reef Club. You simply could not improve on the lovely Villa, the staff are simply the best, helpful, enthusiastic and fun to be with. Maria is a great cook and Victor a lovely butler. (so different from the staff experiences we have had before) . We could not recommend this villa more highly, but don’t try and book for the first two weeks of April, I’ve already booked it !! Enjoy. Villa Melissa is in Queens Fort which is a private estate of several large homes with their own private path to the beach on the west coast of Barbados in the parish of St James.

When staying here you can enjoy the privacy of the house and gardens and also beach life as sun loungers and umbrellas are put out on the beach. Add your own well stocked cooler and you are set for the day. Guests are given a walkie talkie so that they can call for more drinks or Maria can call to advise that lunch is ready and then you can return to the beach or snooze on a lounger in the garden.

The rate includes 3 great staff, Our cook who cooks great food , Michele who is the maid and laundress and Victor our convivial and laid back Butler who mixes mean rum punches and mohito's and spends much of his time taking very good care of all of guests, friends and family.

The location of the house is such that you can stroll south to the Coral Reef Club and Colony Club or north to Glitter Bay and the Fairmont Royal Pavilion and its only a mile to Holetown for shopping, restaurants and bars.

Barbados is fabulous at any time of the year, with its white sandy beaches, shimmering blue Caribbean seas and some of the friendliest Caribbean people you'll ever meet.
